Fashion trends are always changing, and the trends you encounter during the spring and summer will not be the same as during the fall and winter. Most fall and winter trends make sense, they have to do with keeping warm while staying stylish, while others may actually surprise you.

* Buttoned-Up Collars: Buttoned up collars are all about refined sophistication. Open collars have their place, but closed-up collars are truly sophisticated. Whether you are wearing an elegant shirt dress, a crisp business blouse or a sheer blouse, the way for you to wear these tops between 2010 and 2011 is going to be to button all of the buttons up, yes, all of them. The look of sleek and refined sophistication will really go a long way.

* Clothing with Lace: Lace clothing may not necessarily be a new trend, but it is definitely spanning through the seasons, fall and winter included. The lace clothing trend is one that has been evolving for some time, influencing the trends in the spring of 2010 and carrying over into the fall and winter as well. Unique takes on lace win out over stress lace. Add lacy accents whenever possible to truly tap into this trend.

* Clothing with Cut Outs: Cut-out clothing is typically a trend that is exclusive to the spring and summer months, but the cutaway and cut out trend has been making a big impact in the fall and the winter as well. This goes not only for the clothing itself, but also for the accessories as well. The cut out pieces may reveal skin or sheer fabrics, and the cut-away detailing can be simple and subtle or sexy and intricate depending on your needs.

Each of these trends has its place on the catwalks through the autumn and winter months, and it would benefit you to tap into them whenever reasonably possible to do so.
